  • 6 days, 7 nights at 5 star Villa Vignamaggio
  • A car from AutoErope included
  • 2 Wine tours, wine tastings, olive oil tastings, cooking lesson, day trip to Florence, lunches and some dinners at local Tuscan restaurants
  • Tour of Florence and the Uffizi and Academia galleries

Accommodation: Villa Vignamaggio (click to for info)

The Villa Vignamaggio is one of the most beautiful inns in the Chianti wine district.  Located near Greve in the heart of the Chianti, this villa is exquisitely furnished and discreet, it is the perfect retreat for couples who want to enjoy the best things life has to offer.

Meals included: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner

Day 1 - Arrival
  • Today is a day when you will arrive at your lodgings and settle in.  Take a stroll around the gardens, go for a swim, grab a bike and go for a ride to shake off the wear and tear of your travels.  In nearby Greve you'll find a few cafes, trattorias and restaurants where you can enjoy an espresso or a meal.  And later...well get a good night's sleep!
Day 2
  • During the morning we will visit a winery where we will enjoy a number of Tuscan wines, Vin Santo and Grappa, as well as a selection of fantastic Tuscan olive oils. Afterwards, we'll venture into Castellina in the Chianti wine district for lunch (not included in the price of the tour) and a stroll through the center of town where you can shop at local stores.  We'll visit two more wineries and cellars in the afternoon to learn about wine production, and of course to sample more great Tuscan wines.  Our last stop will be at a wonderful old medieval castle in the heart of Tuscany. B, L
Day 3
  • Today you will visit another winery where you will be able to sample the famous Brunello di Montalcino wine, as well as a Rossi and an IGT Super Tuscan.  For lunch (not included in the price) we'll visit the historic and delightful town of Montalcino.  During the afternoon, we will visit another winery and its cellars and savour another great Brunello wine.  Our last stop will be at an abbey where we will hear vespers being chanted by Gregorian monks...a fabulous way to end the day. B, L
Day 4
  • It's time to go to Florence...for a day of marveling at the place that gave birth to the Italian Renaissance.  We'll give you a private tour that includes the most notable monuments, buildings and piazzas in the city, but also a no-line up tour of the Uffizi and Academia galleries. B, L
Day 5
  • Today, we go on another excursion, this time to San Gimigano, the city of towers, where we'll have lunch, and to San Miniato another of Tuscan's glorious medieval towns.  These are amiable places where you can spend a leisurely time walking the twisting alleyways, sitting at a cafe in the towns' piazzas enjoying an espresso, or even climbing a tower (or two!) to gain a jaw-dropping view of the surrounding Tuscan countryside.  Before leaving San Miniato, you'll enjoy another great Tuscan meal at one of our favorite places, Pepeneros .  You'll be back in Greve by about 10PM.  B,L,D
Day 6
  • You'll have a free morning at the Villa and Greve, to relax, shop and enjoy yourself.  After lunch we'll be going to the Hotel Vernazzo for a cooking lesson.  Your chef-teacher is going to school you in the art of Tuscan cooking using local meats, vegetables, oils, wines, and fruits.  After slaving over a hot stove all day, you'll sit to table and enjoy your self-made feast - with the help of a selection of Tuscan wines! B,L,D
Day 7 - Departure
  • Alas, it's time to go home, or perhaps on to the next leg of your adventure.  But, with a mind full of memories of one of the most romantic and satisfying journeys you've ever made.  Saluti!
