Furnished and appointed with incredible taste, you and your closest friends will revel in its evocative and luxurious atmosphere. Meals included: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner |
Day 1 - Arrival
- Arrive at Fattoria di Stibbio and get comfortable in your rooms. Take a stroll around the grounds and gardens, settle in for the day. There is a fully equipped kitchen so if you arrive before lunch or dinner, why not go shopping at the local markets and prepare a light meal?
|
Day 2
- Today you'll enjoy a trip to Montecatini Terme e Alta and Pisa and Lucca, three of Tuscany's fabled cities. Montecatini Terme is a luxurious "spa" town famous for its Liberty style thermal spas. Pisa is where you will find the notoriously leaning tower, and the ancient walled city of Lucca holds many delights. You'll be "home" by 7 where you can make a meal or eat at a local restaurant. L
|
Day 3
-
During the
morning we will visit a winery where we will enjoy a
number of Tuscan wines, Vin Santo and Grappa,
as well as a selection of fantastic Tuscan olive oils.
Afterwards, we'll venture into Castellina in the
Chianti wine district for lunch (not included in the
price of the tour) and a stroll through the center of
town where you can shop at local stores. We'll
visit two more wineries and cellars in the afternoon to
learn about wine production, and of course to sample
more great Tuscan wines. Our last stop will be at
a wonderful old medieval castle in the heart of Tuscany. You'll be back "home" by 7PM or so for a fantastic meal prepared by a local cook at the tavola grande. L,D

Day 4
- It's time to go to Florence...for a day of marveling at the place that gave birth to the Italian Renaissance. We'll give you a private tour that includes the most notable monuments, buildings and piazzas in the city, but also a no-line up tour of the Uffizi and Academia galleries. L
|
Day 5
- You'll have a free morning...You might want to go shopping at local markets and make a lunch at home. Or perhaps go for a drive in the country and eat at a local trattoria. After lunch, Chef Maurizio will come to the Fattoria for your own private "full course Tuscan meal" cooking lesson. Here's hoping you do well, because at dinner you'll be feasting on the food you made. Naturally, you'll enjoy your meal with a selection of Tuscan wines. L,D
|
Day 6
-
San Gimignano is known as the Town of the Towers, because it still boasts 14 of the over 70 medieval towers that used to dominate this wonderful little hill top town. Wine lovers know San Gimagnano as the center of the district where the Vernaccia di San Gimagnano is produced. This wine is the very first wine to have received the coveted DOC status in 1966. Now the area is becoming well known for its powerful red wines. We'll drive to the Consorzio della Vernaccia winery for a tour and tasting (regular Vernaccia and a Super Tuscan) - tour of the town of San Gimignano - visit to the village of Colle Val d'Elsa to sample local olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Day 7 - Departure
- Time to go home or head out on another part of your adventure. This morning you'll pack your bags and hang out at the Fattoria and enjoy the final hours of your friendship gathered in the great room, or perhaps strolling in the gardens.
