The Amalfi Coast is notoriously expensive. European royalty and VIPS throughout the world travel here each year and there are some outrageously posh locations - complete with infinity pools and every luxury imaginable. However, it is still possible to find reasonably priced, well maintained and typical Italian establishments that have not lost their flavor or charm.
Some of our staff favorites, include: The B&B Maliosa D'Arienzo, just outside of the town of Positano, the Casa Angelina in beautiful Praiano and the exquisite Palazzo Murat right in central Positano. Each of these locations are beautiful in their own right, but different selections may be more appealing based on your pocket book.

We urge you, if possible, to try and get off of the Amalfi coast, into the hinterlands of Campania, to places like Padua, Bagni di Contursi and Paestum. There is a plethora of tastes to discover, incredible vistas and incredulous architecture. Rolling hills meet blue seas and the majority of people in these towns have not been scared by tourism much like many of the locals have in Northern Italy. For this reason, traveling in Campania is much less expensive and in many ways more rewarding.
