The toe of Italy's boot...is the mythical Region of Calabria, or as we call it, the Kingdom of the Sun.  On its west side, it is lapped by the immemorial waves of the Tyrrhenian Sea, cruising waters of Ulysses and his Argonauts, and on its east side, by the shimmering waters of the fabled Ionian Sea.  In between, the rugged and spectacular mountains of the Silla Massif.  This is more than South of Rome...this is another world, once the homeland of Italy's earliest peoples, then of the Greeks whose Calabrian colonies were an important part of Magna Graeca, then of the Romans, Byzantines, Normans, Spanish, French and host of others.  A mulitlayere place of historical fact, myth and magic.
