Day 1: Arrival in Florence

    Perugia was among the most important cities of the Etruscans. The town dominates the Tiber Valley from a high, irregular and rough hill: the particular feature of the land has generated a wide variety of urban situations, giving the town a very special aspect.

  • Morning: Gubbio Guided Tour

    Today
    Gubbio represents the compact masterpiece of medieval civilization. Gubbio has been defined "the most beautiful medieval city" of Europe. Ancient Umbrian settlement, testified by the famous EUGUBINE TABLETS: they are seven bronze sheets, now visible at the Civic Museum.

  • Afternoon: at liesure

  • Morning: Castle of Magione Guided Tour and Wine Tasting

    Dated back to 1150-1170, the castle of the Knights of Malta placed in Magione was a shelter for pilgrims going to Rome or to the Holy city of Jerusalem. Magione Castle farm covers an area of 1325 hectares and the vineyards are placed in the DOC district of "Trasimeno hills".

  • Afternoon: Torgiano Wine Tour
     

    Torgiano is a quaint village surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye can see, where we will visit a Wine Museum illustrating all the aspects of wine, from history, to farming. After the tour, a welcome stop at the winery for a tasting of prized white and red wines, like Rubesco.

Day 4

  • Morning: Assisi Guided Tour

    The town of
    Assisi which takes its name from Mount Asi, on which it is situated, lies in the centre of the province of Umbria, about halfway between the cities of Perugia and Foligno, and 41 miles north of Rome. We spend the afternoon at leisure.

  • Afternoon: Spello at leisure

    Spello is not only blessed with a superb geographical position, but is also the home of the greatest number of monuments dating back to the Roman period in Umbria, these including the city walls, Porta Consolare, Porta Urbica, Porta Venere, the theatre, amphitheatre, and spas.

  • Morning: Orvieto Guided Tour

    This ancient town picturesquely sits on a large, flat outcropping with sheer cliffs. Orvieto, while no secret, is worth a good half-day of sightseeing. In the afternoon, explore the wonders that Orvieto has to offer at your own pace.

  • Morning: Bevagna Guided Tour

    The little walled city of Bevagna is one of the most attractive places of central Umbria, in the plain of the Topino River about 8 km W of Foligno. Unusual for Umbria, it is not a hill town, but is quite flat, sitting in a shallow basin at the foot of the northern end of the Colli Martani.
     

  • Afternoon: Trevi

    The town, which enjoys a spectacular view of the surrounding Umbrian countryside, sits above the flood plain of the Clitunno River on the steep lower skirts of Mount Serano.
    Trevi was originally ensconced in Roman walls and fortifications erected during the 1st Century BC.

  • Morning: Norcia Guided Tour

    Standing in a fertile plain surrounded by the Sibilline mountains, which account for the pleasant climate even during the hottest months, Norcia and the Valnerina are the natural choice of people who want to escape from the stress and noise of big cities and commune with Nature.

  • Afternoon: Spoleto at Leisure

    The town of Spoleto sits on the terraced slopes of the Apennines, at the end of a long, fertile valley.  Spoleto had probable Etruscan influences but was Romanized during the Sannitic wars. Every summer it hosts the world-renowned cultural festival dei due mondi.
