We begin with a description of St. Mark's
Square, the political centre of the Venetian
Republic. Then you will enter the Golden
Basilica and visit the Ducal Palace, the
residence of the Doges and the most important
seat of government in the 'Serenissima', the
Bridge of Sighs and the Prisons.
Guide service, entrance to St. Mark's
Basilica, entrance to the Ducal Palace, entrance
to the Prisons, walk over the Bridge of Sighs,
visit to a Glass Blowing Factory.
On Sunday morning and during special
celebrations, visits to the Basilica of St. Mark
are not allowed. On Easter Thursday, the
Basilica will be closed until 14:00hrs for holy
celebrations. From 19 to 26 November 2007, The
Bridge of Sighs and The Prison will be closed
for renovation.
Appropriate dress should be worn
in places of worship.
