The Villa Casalecchi, one of ItalianVisits favorites in the Chianti region.  You just don't know how beautiful it is, until you get there.

The current residence has been created on an ancient estate with the intention of offering a warm, family-style hospitality. There are 16 rooms in the main manor house building and 3 apartments in the former stables. All rooms are furnished with either original antique or antique-style furniture and have en-suite bathrooms, mini-bar, telephone, T.V. and satellite and air-conditioning.

The restaurant of the hotel has an à la carte menu of traditional Tuscan specialties ( as well as a menu of original dishes created by the imaginative chef) and a comprehensive wine list covering the main wine-growing regions of Italy.

One can enjoy long walks in the grounds of the villa and bicycles, scooters or horses may be rented upon short notice. A swimming pool, tennis court and Italian bowling court are all available for the guests of Villa Casalecchi in the grounds.

The best thing about staying at the Casalecchi estate is that you can walk right into Castelina in Chianti and Siena is only 25 minutes away, driving.  Right in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine district, Radda, Volpaino, Greve and many of the other famous Chianti villages are only a short drive away.

The Casalecchi estate produces their own Chianti DOC wine and is served as the house wine at the fabulous restaurant, which serves only organically produced meats and vegetables.  You can most certainly taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite.
