General
Four kilometers of narrow,
winding road leads up to
Cottage Contadina at nine
hundred meters above sea
level. It is the highest of
a small group of tiny,
holiday cottages spaced out
in the forest so is very
private. From its own small,
fenced garden it enjoys
pockets of sun and shade,
and between the trees are
extensive vistas over the
valley.
Location
From the private car parking
space within the grounds of
the cottage, are two flights
of steps built into the
hillside to arrive to the
house. It is simply but
comfortably furnished and
further, outdoor steps lead
to a lovely furnished,
illuminated terrace with a
stone-built barbecue for
dining outside under the
shade of trees and enjoying
a cool, mountain breeze. The
terrace is also directly
accessible from the bedroom.
The delightful small city of
Cortona is only five
kilometers away for all
self-catering requirements,
and because of the mountain
drive it is advisable to
take a supply of necessities
on the day of arrival. From
Cortona, Lake Trasimeno and
its fabulous opportunities
for swimming and water
sports can be reached by car
in thirty minutes.
Layout
The pretty sitting room has
a convertible, sofa bed,
open fireplace and spiral
stairs to the first floor.
The kitchen/diner has
cooker, oven, fridge/freezer
and a washing machine. Being
built into the hillside, the
kitchen has ventilation but
no window so it remains
cool. Shower room complete
with WC etc. On the first
level is a double bedded
room with doors to the
terrace.
