General
A most charming little
cottage in a remote and
isolated position. On a west
facing hillside in the
middle of olive, oak and
chestnut woodland, it is the
epitome of peace and
seclusion. From this great
height, there are
spectacular views over the
Val di Chiana and the most
romantic sunsets.
Location
As it is so high up, guests
are advised to do some
shopping for provisions
before going to the property
on arrival day. The interior
of San Martino is modern and
attractively furnished. To
the front and overlooking
the swimming pool, is a very
spacious, covered terrace
open to the front. Visitors
tend to live on it, enjoying
the gentle mountain breezes,
the chirping of the cicadas
- sheer tranquillity. Umbria
lies to the east and Tuscany
is to the west making this a
perfect location for
visiting the towns and
cities of both regions.
Cortona, Arezzo and the
beaches of Lake Trasimeno
are all within a half hour
drive. Both Siena and
Perugia - the capital of
Umbria - can be reached in
an hour and Florence is 90
minutes by car.
Layout
Double doors from the
terrace lead into a sitting
room with open fireplace.
Kitchen/diner has a cooker,
oven and fridge. One double
bedded room and one twin
bedded room. Shower room
with WC etc.
