The charming estate of La Montanina is rimmed by wooded hills that surround it like a garden. Accessed by a steep, one kilomere unmade road and immersed in beautiful countryside, the outlook is phenomenal. Here are three, detached cottages of typical, warm, fawn stone which have been well restored. Each has its own furnished terrace for ’al fresco’ dining and guests to these houses share the swimming pool which has been idyllically positioned to share the vista. Although the houses have central heating, each has a large open fireplace welcoming early and late season visitors. A laundry room on site is available for guests’ use. For groups renting the three cottages together, a large sitting room is available.

Location
Castiglion Fiorentino is 8kms distant. Within its walls it has retained a medieval street plan and a relaxed atmosphere. Centred midway between the historic towns of Arezzo and Cortona, Lake Trasimeno is within sensible driving distance. The main feature in the green, undulating countryside are the numerous, prosperous farms and the prized cattle breed called Chianina, named after the valley below.
