General
Built into a hillside this
magnificent old house has
dense forest to the front
and spectacular views to the
side and rear which continue
into the distance for miles.
When reconstructing it, the
owner gave particular
consideration to space and
comfort.
Location
With screens to all windows,
the rooms are furnished
mainly in antiques which
have come from around the
world. Because the tiled
ceilings are high, extra
space has been created in
many rooms by inserting
overhanging platforms. It is
on two levels but has ground
floor entrances on both. A
delightful cottage in the
grounds allows extra
accommodation but only for
the same party as has booked
the Villa. There is also a
laundry room. La Verina is
located 12 kms from San
Gimignano (2 kms of which
are on unmade road). From
San Gimignano it is 42 kms
to Siena and 56 kms to
Florence. The famous white
wine - Vernaccia di San
Gimignano can be tasted and
bought in most of the
numerous farms in the area.
Layout
For 8 persons, ground floor
entrance is into a sitting
room with stairs to the
first floor. Two double
bedded rooms each with en
suite shower rooms.
Kitchen/diner which has
large cooker, oven, fridge
and dishwasher. A
comfortable sitting room
with fireplace has doors to
the garden one side and a
foot balcony to the other
side. Two twin bedded rooms
with a shared shower room.
For up to 11 persons: The
cottage has a sitting/dining
room and kitchen area having
cooker, oven and fridge. One
single and one double bedded
room with a shared shower
room.
