Needless to say the owners
are wine producers, and
they’ll happily provide
tastings and meals on
request. They live in a
separate house behind our
villa.
The villa is all space and
solidity, high beamed
ceilings, pictures and
tapestries, and not just ’a
room with a view’ , but
every room has a view!
Outside also conforms to
classic type: a beckoning
pool set amongst olives
trees, with a furnished
shady gazebo for that
all-important r&r; fronting
the villa a large raised
furnished terrace with
typical columned stone
balustrade – a long lazy
lunch or genteel pre-dinner
drinks here complete our
picture of Tuscan idyll.
Location
There are essential shops,
banks and chemists in
Castellina five kilometres
away. High Panzano,
galleried Greve and
countless other Chianti
towns ensure that guests are
not disappointed for nearby
excursions. Around an hour
away are Florence and Siena
for some incomparable city
sightseeing.

furnished swimming pool is
shared with the owners (of
which maximum four people),
and measures 16m x 8m and 3m
x 1m in depth.
