The Hotel La Torre is a newly restored boutique hotel and B&B in the heart of Castiglione del Lago on the shores of beautiful Lake Trasimeno near the western border of Umbria and Tuscany.
The hotel's rooms are quiet and comfortable, and the ambiance of the lobby, restaurant and common areas has a special charm.
The Hotel is a short walk away from the Palazzo Ducale and the ancient churches of Santa Maria Maddelena and San Domenico. Nearby is the fortified castle, built by the Holy Roman Emperor, Frederick II in the 13th century.
The village offers the choice of many restaurants where guests can enjoy a wide variety of Tuscan and Umbrian foods, and a variety of shops offering typical products from the region. On Wednesdays, the village becomes a busy market town where fresh produce, meats and cheeses are displayed by the farmers and tradespeople of the area.
At the small lakeside harbor there is a ferry service which takes visitors to the four beautiful islands of Lake Trasimeno.
