Included: Breakfast and either lunch or dinner. For groups of 8 or more free pick up at Rome airport if required; for smaller groups, couples or individuals, pick up by special arrangement (extra fees might be added).
Not included: Airfare, car rentals, travel insurance etc.
Changes: All tour itineraries are subject to reasonable change.
 
All of our tours include 3, 4  and 5 star, charming, centrally located and characteristic accommodations (double occupancy), all group transportation with professional drivers in clean, spacious and comfortable vans, breakfast and either lunch or dinner daily, all tour and entry fees, fascinating English speaking local guides.

The perfect tour for those of you with “buon gusto” (good taste)! Indulge in a few days of sensual delights as you peruse the open-air markets in pursuit of the freshest and tastiest produce. Garner cooking tips, flavor melding secrets, family recipes while participating in an Epicurean cooking course!

Celebrate the sheer joy of living while meandering the vineyards. Explore local wineries. Toast “la dolce vita”, sampling the famous wines of the Umbria Region. For the grand finale.. what could be better than chocolate for desert!!!? Including a few "Baci", but of course!

Sightseeing tours, including admissions to sights seen as a group; all breakfasts and either lunch or dinner; 3 or 4 star accommodations w/ private bath, typically in smaller, characteristic hotels in the historic heart of the city or a charming country home (villa) near by; all transportation required for group activities from airport pick up on your arrival to delivery to the airport on your departure date. Transportation for optional group activities and independent travel during the tour is not included.

The Gourmet Tour of Umbria Itinerary
Waiver - Terms and Conditions - Application
Day 1 - Arrival Rome. Pick-up at Fiumicino or Ciampino International Airports. Van transport to your lodgings at a country home (agriturismo) near the city of Todi.  We'll enjoy an early  "welcome" dinner, visiting  the Historic Center of this charming Etruscan village.
Day 2 - Today we're going to learn the basics of Italian country cooking at the knee of a genuine Italian mamma at the agriturismo - call it a "prep" course day for day 3.  Late afternoon/ evening, we're off to the ancient Etruscan cliff top town of Orvieto.
Day 3 - The country cooking class continues at at the "agriturismo".  At lunch, you'll enjoy your own scrumptious creations while savoring views of the spectacular local countryside. This evening we explore the near by hamlet of Monte Castello di Vibio with a visit to the World's Smallest Theater, Concordia. Optional evening concert or theater event.
Day 4 - Today we are re-locating to Umbria's historic capital, Perugia, one of the most fascinating cities in all of Italy. Here you are in for an amazing culinary experience with our gourmet chef. 
 
Luck is with us! It's market day!! Transform yourself into a temporary local while immersing yourself in the hustle and bustle of the market place. Choose only the freshest and tastiest ingredients and then...
 
Create your very own Italian specialties, homemade pasta and gnocchi and delectable sauces in the GOURMET cooking class. Savor your mouth watering handiwork, paired with the perfect wine for a very tasteful day indeed!
 
Evening free in Perugia.
Day 5 - Wine Tour: Start the day with a private guided tour of the fascinating wine museum in Torgiano. Stop for lunch in the charming hamlet of Bevagna. Then enjoy  a privileged insiders look at the “cantina”  and production areas of a renowned local vintner. Explore the art of cultivating distinctive wines and make the day complete by sampling the wares!  Lunch is included.
Day 6 - Wine Tour; Visit one of Umbria's most charming hill towns, Spello. Enjoy a privileged interview with a respected local "sommelier"; at an amazing enoteca (specialty wine shop). Sample some truly unforgettable DOC, DOCG and Reserve wines while engaging in an afternoon of R & R in luxurious and decadent style! Lunch included.
Day 7 - The CHOCOLATE TOUR!! Indulge in "La Dolce Vita" (the sweet life) visiting some interesting production areas and chocolate boutiques before heading to Assisi for the afternoon. Dinner in near by Collepino, situated on Mt. Subasio.
Day 8 - Breakfast and farewell.
Price includes 3 or 4 star accommodations/ double occupancy, transportation, breakfast and either lunch or dinner, tours, entry fees, English speaking guides.

 
Payment: 25% on booking, remainder within 30 days of tour start date.
Cancellation: Deposit not refundable under any circumstances; if cancelled within 30 days of tour start date, any other amounts already paid will be repaid.  If cancelled after 30 days, only 50% of total paid, less deposit, will be refunded.
